Tricks with Underwater Camera

I agree with the Swede that the camera cords continue to swing and twist which is frustrating when you are trying to find your lure. I usually have to mess with the camera for quite some time losing quality fishing time. I use the aqua vu tripod to hold my camera at the correct depth. If I need to turn the camera a little it usually swings too far and then too far the other way... The more I look at them the Aqua Vu 4 way camera or the Marcum with the rotating camera looks more and more inviting... The only thing that is holding me back from buying one is the cost of the camera and the fact that I usually don't catch enough fish to justify the cost.

Just wish I could find an easy to fix answer to this problem.

Several people have suggested a tripod on here but I think it is getting confused with the tripod system that sits on top of the ice. There is a tripod that your camera mounts to and it holds it 1 foot off the bottom. I purchased one at the ice show this year and it is the solution to the spinning problem. I took a few minutes off of working the booth today to track it down at the St. Paul sports show. The product is called a "Steady Stand". You can find the guy at any of the shows in the Capras booth. He doesn't have a HSOforum but you can also call him and order one at 952.435.7702.

When using an Aqua Vu Mo-Pod, I found just tapping the switch turns the camera slightly and it doesn't wiggle much afterwards.

I guess that I have been too stubborn to purchase the Mo Pod because of the price but maybe that is what I should do to fix my scanning around problem. It probably moves more smoothly than what I can do by hand and my little tripod...
