Another double 10 question

Do you guys prefer the blades being the same color/finish such as both orange, both silver, etc or combo colors/finishes whether that would be a metal + color like silver and orange or both color such as green and black? Thanks.

I have to agree with the contrating blades. I got a Custom Double 10 last winter with one black blade and one orange blade. I thought it would really contrast and look good. From the surface it just appears as a blur to me. Maybe the fish see it different, but I doubt it. Skirt colors v. Blade color would be more important to me than Blade v. Blade.

I prefer to have both blades the same color, however, I do have a few with one colored blade and one gold/nickel blade. I have moved fish on both kinds of lures, but at least for me, the same colored blades seem to produce much better.

theres been research done on saltwater predator fishs' eyes about being able to adjust the ''shutter'' speed of their eyes to better track their prey in different light/temp conditions. no muskie research as far as i know has been done but it was suggested all predator fish, maybe even all fish, probably have the ability. with this in mind it may be possible they (muskie) can actually get near still shots or at least frame by frame images. although blurry on moving objects. just conjecture on muskie, but maybe. i think it was swordfish where in deep darker, ( would be murky in a lake/river), colder water the eyes slowed to 2 frames per second and in warmer temps it was up to 40 or more. even being cold blooded they could control the temp of the eyes through chemical reaction inside the eye. warmer not colder if i remember right.... just a thought grin

I've caught fish on both kinds, but this year all but 1 were with contrasting blades, mainly pink and black. I don't know how much the fish can see this, because usually you can only see one of the blades or just a blur. Color is still my last consideration, and most of the time i just pick one that looks good at the moment.

Doesnt matter to me really... I just grab a lure I think that will interest those dumb fishes...

Check out the latest issue of Musky Hunter... Mike Hulbert has an article about crazy-colored lures... its an interesting read and has lot to do with what you are asking about...
