FishTv™ Plus Underwater Viewing Systems

If you spend the time to scroll through this issue has been knocked around about 15 times in the past week alone. I've been looking to buy and have the bucks but the trend seems to be that they don't hold up and many are duds right out of the box - at least that's what I've concluded after watching this forum for about 2 weeks trying to decide what to get.

There is a sponsor on here that sells the stuff and he wrote a while back that he was encountering so many problems that he quit selling the low end stuff cause he didn't want the bad customer relations.

I have a friend that bought one, he brought it home and found one knob pushed all the way into the tv, brought it back got a different one, it works great, even has a better picture then my higher dollar big name brand one!

I spent some time in a research capacity years ago with underwater cameras. I will tell you dont waste your money on a color camera for Minnesota, if anyone even has one anymore- color cams are lower resolution than black and white, considerably poorer picture.

Also, the lights are a needless "toy". Mostly they just bounce off any floating plankton or algae, and make the scene harder to see. The concept of the "lights" was "borrowed" from a salt water camera the size of a coffee can that looks like the first Aqua Vu. I will tell you the salt water version came FIRST, on the west coast. The lights and a color version have a place in salt water viewing, but are not really needed in our lakes up here.

Try to spend more than 99$ on your cam.

But you dont need to drop 400 bucks either. Lots of used ones out there, just check em out first.

Actually, the best Aqua Vu's were the Z series of camera, the one before the "fish", (I like the rubber armoured cam).
