Steve Foss
B-Man, welcome to HSO/FM. A million years ago and in a galaxy far, far away, I lived near you in Milltown. And my family vacationed on Balsam Lake one summer as well, also a million years ago. I am a LaCrosse native. Cheeseheads rock! Great mood shots, both of them, and thanks for sharing. mrfish1991
311Hemi...the black box off to the left of the tip up is a raido transmitter. If you look closely, attatched to the top of the tip up is a string with a key on it. The key is inserted into the transmitter to interrupt the circuit. when the flag is tripped by a fish, the spring in the flag pulls out the key to complete the circuit. the completed curcuit then lights up the little bulb and sends a raido frequency to a reciever you have in your fish house. the reciever lets out a nice loud siren and then you know you have a tip up going off w/o having to leave the warmth of your shack to look around.
