Lakemaster Software Load on a Windows Vista Premium PC?

Will the Lakemaster software CD load on a PC running Windows Vista Premium Home? I am having trouble getting it to start up after I "install" (install seems to run ok). Thanks.

I have the Mapsource(Garmin) Lakemaster Minnesota v.4 on my PC which runs on Vista Premium. It does run OK. I am not a fan of Vista by any means, I do not enjoy its inability to do what once were simple tasks.

I'd try to open it outside of the install program. Restart and then right click "open" or run it from the start menu.

I had the same problem with the CD Lakemaster!

The solution for me was to contact lakemaster,They sent some DLLs ? I believe to me over the net I installed them and walla up & running.

So contact them,It got mine working on Win XP

Another thing to check is.....are your running the 64 bit version of Vista. If so call LakeMaster and they will be able to answer any questions. Applications may require a different version if using a 32 or 64 bit Operating System.

You will need to get the recently released windows vista version. Its about half price to upgrade if you have a previous version. I had been waiting for this for over a year and they finally released it this last fall. There is no other way to get the old version to work with vista!!!

I installed the Minnesota version back in December on my new machine with vista. I think it works fine for what it is but I am not very happy with it.

It did take an unbelievable long time to install but I could live with that if that was the only problem.

The abilities of this program, or I should say LACK OF abilities. I have a version that is 5+ years old also, I really don’t see any improvements at all in this brand new version other then may be some better contoured lakes. Now I have lakes that just completely disappear on me and I cannot get them back.

Send an email or call Lakemaster. I had a problem with the program and they got back to me very quickly. The problem was resolved on the first shot.

Have you checked the FAQs on Lakemaster HSOforum for a potential solution?

I haven't tried to contact them yet, but from reading on their HSOforum it looks like the 2008 software has out of the box vista support.

I have the 2007 version which does not work, but like mentioned above they should have some .dll's available.

I am interested to know how this turns out, I haven't used the software much myself as it can't seem to register (unable to connect to a server).

I'm also interested,I thought I was one of the few who purchased the CD Lakemaster.

For those who have the card LakeMaster,Can it be loaded in a card reader and all functions available on a computer??

With the CD I only have 3 installs 2 of witch have been used,and the computer was reformatted,so I need to reinstall,and I'm thinking new computer so my CD will be useless after next install.

If you have Micosoft Vista on your PC, only LakeMaster's Contour Pro Minnesota, released Fall of 2008, will work. Owners of older versions can upgrade for $50.

Anyone having install or other problems should email LakeMaster from the LakeMaster HSOforum.

After using all installs, more installs can be purchased.

I tried to get more installs for my 2007 LM Pro CD.Lakemaster emailed me back I'd have to purchase a new CD at full cost.

If you have purchased from them in the past than you should be eligible for the reduced cost upgrade. The '08 contour pro is now on a DVD not a cd.
