Bulldoggr
I attached the 2x2's with Brass wood screws, every 6 inches apart. Was able to do it at an angle under the lip of the sled itself. So it is not visible.
cyberger
Very nice! I currently have a clam 5600 but will be getting a flip over for next year with mod like this (hopefully that nice) so pups can be off the floor. Thanks for sharing. tonkapat
i used 3/4 x 1 5/8" pine for framing. 3/16 luan for the plywood compartments and 3/8 for the top deck. no need to go with 3/4 anywhere. I will post some pics soon. good luck
evinrude19
did you screw it into the sled also or just have it in there?
Big Dave2
Lukernleever, any idea how much weight you added? I would like to do something like this with my fish trap guide but I am not sure if it is worth it if it will add a ton of weight since the only time I usually use it is for walking out. Once the ice gets thick I use the wheel house.
Bulldoggr
my guess, i would say I added at least 25 pounds. but it pulls real ez by hand in the snow. I was not concerned for weight to be honest. More concerned for durability.I know and appreciate that others are concerned about weight. Using an ATV or the truck 90% of the time i am on the ice.I hope to own a wheel house some day. I am moving to Wyoming, So i am sure I would be one of the first with a wheelhouse out there.
