Muskie fisherman missing in Mille Lacs

I read this on M1st. BE CAREFUL, no fish is worth your life. Thoughts go out to the family and hope for the best although it's been 2 days now.

"A muskie fisherman from Maple Grove, MN is missing on Lake Mille Lacs. His boat was found up near Red Door in the Knox point area. His name will not be released until his family or police do. He used the Casino landing and was last seen there on Wednesday around 5pm. He was fishing out of a 518 Ranger, his wallet was found in the boat with his bow mount down. That is all the info that has been released at this time. If anyone has any information or remembers seeing a 518 Ranger up in the Knox Point area, please contact either the Mille Lacs County Sheriff, Aitkin County Sheriff, or Crow Wing County Sheriff's office's accordingly.

Thanks for posting JRedig. They believe he was fishing solo. Additional info is that the boat had a 150 Evinrude motor with a trolling plate on it. They are focusing on the areas from Indian Point all the way to Red Door.

Not sure the exact circumstances but be careful as the weather changes. I can't imagine what his poor family is going through.

I stepped out of a duckboat this weekend into what I thought was shallow water - turns out there was lots of muck so I sunk to the top of my waders. The point is, my brother was there and we were laughing about it as soon as my fat arse crawled back into the boat - if I was solo it could have been a bit scary.
