Another very nice reel is the Abu Garcia Cardinal 300. I purchased one last winter as it was on sale and was very happy with its performance.

I have a couple little presidents (pflueger) and they are very smooth a little spendy tho ($50) thier on JM's witch make for an $80 ice fishing combo I know its nuts but what else can I do with my money let it grow I think not.

Got to see the press release and see a few of the prototypes for the Rip City rods... didn't get to hold one yet though. They look nice. I dont think I am going to give up my Thorne Brothers rods any time soon, but the Rip City rod had a wood handle one that looked really cool... I am interested to see what the price point will be.

From what I saw, yes, Dietz, they look pretty nice. Nature Vision could have a winner here.

HL, the cats quit biting, so I am focused on ice fishing! Its never to early .
