Is still a good time to lay sod ?

I have a large bare spot due to a building demolition.

Last spring I bought 100yards of sod but never picked it up.

Is it a good time still to lay it down or do I have to wait until spring ?

I have a similar but much smaller situation (removed a play set) and will either sod or plant seed by the end of the week. We should have 6 weeks left in the growing season (well at least I hope so).

I just seeded today for sprouting before winter,if ya get it in now (sod)and water good it will be OK.

Sodd is god to go untill the ground freezes or untill it comes to diffucult for the sodd farmers to strip it off the ground from frost. I have laid sodd when it was snowing

I was thinking that same thing. I just spent the weekend with the sod cutter removing the old lawn. Im laying the sod around the 25th.

I saw them lay sod next door in Nov. last year.It grew just fine in the spring.This is prime growing time for grass.Just make sure it is watered every day for the the first week to 10 days or so.
