Hummingbird 565 help

I just picked up a new boat and it has a 565 on the front. I like the unit, but I night fished for the first time last night and when the light was on the graph would fade in an out. The screen light would stay on, but the depth and reading would hardly be visible.

I haven't had any problems with it during the day and I've had it out about 6-8 times. Any suggestions as to where to start? Battery issue or issue with unit?

Sounds to me like it's an issue with the unit's display. You could try changing your screen brightness or contrast to see if that helps, or see if the unit has a night viewing mode. But if it's fading in and out I suspect it's a problem with the display. Good luck getting it figured out.

Call a bird repair shop. Maybe they can give you some insight and hopefully won't give you the old "we need to see it" line.
