looking at getting a new release and leaning toward a four finger strapless release. but concerned that a heaver glove in the winter would be difficult. Any thoughts on it.

Thumb trigger or finger? And are you talking a back tension release?

I actually think the thumb release is easier than a strap on finger release with gloves on. I use a Carter Chocolate Addiction and really like it. Just clip it to your D-loop and it's always ready and doesn't get in the way.
