What's the forcast for the Red Run?

Headed up to the Kenia in early August. What is the forcast for the Red run. What is the limit this year? Plan on doing two days ol on the Middle. Last year it was awsome. Never been on the Kenia when the Pinks were running. How does the Pink run effect the Silvers and Reds?

Down Deep I have been in MN this summer so i am not sure what the forecast is. But you could check it out on ADF&G's HSOforum and i am sure you will find something.

The first run of Reds hit the Kenai with full force yesterday with high numbers, it's looking like a very good year to be chasing some sockeye. I think the limit for reds on the kenai is 3/day and 3 in possession, not 100% sure on that though. The pink run shouldn't effect the silver/red run at all, the only thing it will do is make it harder to catch the silvers and reds but there's nothing wrong with a little diversity.

Heading Up Friday the 25th...thru Aug 2nd.....will be fishing the kenai Starting Sun.....sounds like things started last week.....great fishing info...here's a number you can call updated daily with wier counts....907-262-9097....usually updated by 12:00 alaska time......

Wed 16th - 70,000 reds

Thurs 17 - 58,000

Friday 18 - 18,000

be curious to hear today what the weekend held.....

Red Run still slow.....lower Kenai closed, 2 miles below Soldotna.....some fish were there had to work to get them with long breaks. Still predicting a run....this is three years in a row the run has been late.....

But still a great trip, halibut out of Deep Creek, hit Silvers out of Seward, and reds onthe Kenai.....

now the long wait until next year!!

Can't wait!! 5 days to do until we're on our way up!!! One way or the other it's going to be a good trip. 1st time up there.
