BOOF!

Was at the game yesterday. With so many things to do at home, spring clean-up, getting ready for fishing and turkey hunting, I was ready to leave after the first inning. Then Boof threw his 5 pitch 2nd inning. This had to be the most amazing turn around I have ever seen first hand. Who would have thought he was going to throw 6 full innings? Who would have thought the game would be over in under 3 hours? Who would have thought we had any chance to come away with a win?

If the boys keep swinging the bats the way they have this last week it should be a very entertaining season. Who would have thought?

The last I seen the score it was 6-0, I seen us score our first run, then I went outside. I came back in and seen we won, I couldnt believe it!

I was so impressed with Boof yesterday. To get your arsh handed to you like he did in the first then to come out and pitch 5 shutout innings after that to give us a chance is something else.

It would have been pretty easy to throw in the towel after that first inning but he kept with it. Best performance of the year IMO.

This is what CBS Sportsline said.

They make me mad.

"Bonser has now allowed five or more runs in two of his last four outings, and Sunday's game erased those memories of him picking up a much-needed win Tuesday as he allowed one run in seven innings against the White Sox. Expect this kind of inconsistency from Bonser all season. He is just an average pitcher on a non-contender. He is a low-end Fantasy SP in mixed leagues at best."

Sporting News Fantasy is a little bit kinder to him...the last entry after the start against the White Sox...

Fantasy spin: Bonser's win tonight was just his second of the season due to some pathetic run support, but he's quietly had a strong season for the Twins thus far. He struck out eight while walking just one in the game, with the only damage coming on a solo homer by Joe Crede. The Twins didn't buck their trend of failing to provide much help for Bonser, but their three-run fourth inning was all he needed on this night.

His line so far this season...a 4.29 ERA (which includes the six-run inning the other day); a 1.24 WHIP (which is a solid number) and a 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio (27 K to 9 walks). Decent numbers...

I think he was getting used to the new haircut in the 1st and then settled in! Ha! But in all seriousness, we need Boof to pitch like he did after that inning for us to be successful. It also never hurts when your offense is putting up runs!
