Cement Stains?

Tippman

Question

Over the past few years the cement in my garage has become quite stained with deer blood, dirt, rust stains and a ton of other stuff. Tried a pressure washer today which took care of the dirt fairly well. Is there anything I can do/use to clean the rest of the stains up and make it look newer again?

Muratic Acid could etch the surface finish of your floor if applied at too high of a concentration. You would not want that. It is hard to tell if you have it at to high of a concentrate and then its too late.

There is a Brock White construction supply near the Eagles. Stop in there and ask the guys at the front desk for a heavy duty concrete cleaner.

I left bleach (Sodium Hypochlrite) on my garage floor over night before I etched it to paint it. I can't remember for sure but I think it took 2 applications overnight. It removed the old oil stains. I would do further checking. I don't know if it causes any harm but it worked great for me. I sealed my garage floor 3 years ago with no ill effects.

Get yourself some good Butyl based heavy duty degreaser. There are lots of products that will work but the consequenses of those products are not worth it in most cases. Muriatic will not only etch but also start to dissolve the concrete. This is same chemical most concrete guys use to clean up their trucks and equipment. Tide is almost impossible to completely remove and the first time the spot gets wet you have an ice-skating rink in your garage.
