Wookiee
I was just wondering who makes the rods and reels that Gander mountain sells as their guide series and now that I have asked that who makes them for cabelas and bass pro shops also? I know they have to have a partnership with someone or maybe they don't please let me know. Thanks for the responses.
CrappieAttitude
I have noticed a very close similarity between the phlueger reels and the guide series reels. I am not sure about the rods however. I do know that they are good quality items backed by the gander mountain warrenty. I have quite a few of their ice rods, and I have really liked them. I also have brought back broken rods (my own fault) and they had replaced them no questions asked.CA

YUM
I think Pinncale makes a reel or two for gander also. The Diawa rods and BPS rods are very similar. I also have quite a few of Ganders ice fishing rods and reels... they are pretty good, I prefer them over my st. croix premier ice rods anyway
AceintheHole
Do GM guide series rods have a life time warranty. I have one that broke and was wonder if I can get it replaced.
Wookiee
Yes they do just bring them the pieces and they will exchange it for the same rod or one that is comparable to your style that broke.
JigginIsLife
I think i have 2 ice rods and both of my summer spinning rods are from GM, i have landed my 8lb walleye on 6'6 medium action rod, just fine. actually pretty sensative for the price they are at, but they do lack the backbone of say a pfleuger or phenwick. but for a college kid they work great for walleye, and crappie, as well as for bass.I also have one maybe two Guideseries reels, decent quality...nothing spectatuclar
