Spiral wrapped rods

Threw this out on another site too but wanted to see if anybody here has any knowledge/experience with spiral wrapped rods? Are they what they're made up to be or just hype?

There a few bennies to spiral wrap. 1 is you need less guides, 2 the rod will not want twist in your hand as you retrieve a large lure, 3 the line always wants to go to the bottom of the rod like a spinning rod so it will not torque the blank as you fight a fish. Some have actually come apart from being torqued and twisted.

Like steel, when it's coiled it can flex a lot more without snapping vs a straight steel rod.

I've been using a spiral wrap for the last 5 years and love it... The biggest reason I prefer the spiral wrap is for the lack of rod twist... anyone that fishes by themselves (which I do 70% of the time) will like that it's much easier to net a fish because the rod won't roll in your hand...
