Eric Wettschreck
I'm doing a ton of work on my boat, and I gots a question for yous guys. Most of the fuel lines I've seen have the primer bulb fairly close to the fuel tank. Does the primer bulb have to be right next to the tank? I ask as I'd like to move mine farther down the line. This way it can be outside the rear deck and I don't have to reach my arm way into the abyss of my rear storage to squeeze the primer.
marine_man
There's no reason you couldn't move it closer to the tank, performance might not be quite as good, but it'll still work without any problem.marine_man
boatfixer
I agree, you shouldn't have a problem.
Bigeye30"
Ours sits outside back in the splashwell a few feet from the motor, only use it in the spring to splash a little fuel for the first start up, but have'nt noticed anything. I'd put it in a place for easy access.
Minnesota Fats
A primer bulb is a simple diaphragm pump and a check valve. The closer to the tank, the better, but you can get some distance away. Try it in a place that's convenient, and then move it if you don't get the pressure you need.
