Balsam lake ice free??

I'm posting this here because the wisconsin section doesnt seemed to get much action, and I know a lot of MN bass guys go to wisconsin to fish bass on opener. Does anybody know if the lakes around hwy 8 are ice free? Like Balsam?

I have not been over there, but I would assume they would be about the same as the Chisago lakes.. which all opened up early last week...

As of last Friday I heard the small Polk county lakes were open and the bigger lakes like Balsam where partially ice covered still.
