kdawg
You guys are going about it all wrong..... It's not how much you spend, it's how much you save. My wife is always coming home asking me to guess how much she spent on a blouse, pants, etc... then she tells me how much she saved and boy is she happy. I just bought a new gps/sonar combo unit and I SAVED $200 over what my brother-in-law just spent on the same thing. When you buy tackle at 30 percent off, you buy a boat-load and then you add it all up. Then you tell your wives how much you SAVED. I usually use the line my dad is famous for, "At this price, I can't afford NOT to buy it!". You have to use that line fella's, cuz every once in a while you'll see your wives nodding "yes" in agreement.
StrosLit31
This is what drives a guy to work. If i didnt have fishing for a Hobby i may still be living in my parents basement.... not that anything is wrong with that, since i did it for a while when i was younger. But being addicted to fishing and buying new gear makes a guy wake up every morning and work that much harder....I guess everyone has something they like to spend money on. For my fiance' its shopping for clothes, shoes, and coach purses.Mr. Fleet Farm gets my donation usally monthly....
TCon17
sandmaan, I drive a small car now. 40 MPG is well worth it. Just south of Park Rapids. small fishing boat that gets pulled on shore every trip, so I dont need to put it anywhere.
EYESTALKER
And to think that I got into this sport thinking that after the boat is paid off, it would be a relatively inexpensive sport. LOL. Then I got introduced to St Croix Rods, Abu reels, electronics that can be upgraded every few years, etc. But every time I cast that buzz bait out across the calm cool water at 6 am...the amount of money I've spent just fades away. Abrams
I have stopped boat fishing totally. I now fish from shore or walk rivers. Most of my "lures" are fly's I make.

Andy Loos1432404924
Well, instead of driving the truck all the time, we are now downsizing to a high mileage car. We figured out if we were to keep driving the truck all year, we could have a free car with the difference of MPG with the smaller car.
