Paul
Well I can honestly say that I am happy that the cold war is over. The Picture with the Dome is the Cavalier Air Force, MISSILE ane SPACE Radar Station. They are capable of monitering more than half of all things in space at any given time. The Building is Solid Concrete construction and stands more than 122 feet tall. Here are some pictures of the Army Missle and Space Command and missle silo's. this is were the Minute Man nukes were controlled in North Dakota. All Underground bunkers and some silo's on site. This site is south of Langdon, ND and is all but abandonded now. ND at one time was home to a majority of the US's Nuclear Missle Arsonal. There are still many around the Minot AFB still in operation.

Steve Foss
That brings back a lot of memories from when I was tromping all over N.D. birdwatching and doing news stories. Thanks for sharing them!
icewoman
Good ol' highway 1.. the road with the highest population of deer per square foot! No that road well. Curious what you were doing in that neck of the woods. Instead of of missile silo's now it is home to wind turbines.
GoFish4
I have seen a few articles where people were turning silo's into underground homes. Guess its a way to stay out of the ND winds!!
