Traxxx
I just bought a house on a stream and there is at least one beaver in the area. My question is, what are my options as far as getting rid of it? Thanks
waskawood
Not trying to start a fight here but is it doing harm? I had 15 acres where I previously lived and we had beavers. My house was up high so if the creek had flooded it would not have done me any harm. They are great creatures to watch. Now on the other hand if they will flood your house that is a different situation. I would contact your local CO. He may have to issue a nuisence permit to have someone trap it. Good luck. HunterLee
If there is one there are more. Just ask someone in the area for a local trapper if you want them gone. I love to trap them, but i think if i had one i'd let him stay unless he is trouble.
waskawood
Sorry Maxima. That is why I suggested contacting the CO as I didn't know when the season ended for beaver. You will also notice that I said "may" have to issue a permit.
echotrail
Ward, I'm worried about the Beaver.
Traxxx
The stream is a designated trout stream that is about 25 to 30 feet across. I'm not too concenred with flooding but it (they?) are dropping alot of the pople and other trees near the stream and making a mess in the area around it. Longline
I guess you got the Beaver taken care of, I was going to say if you marry it you will never see it again.
echotrail
"Ward, I'm worried about the Beaver" was a line often used in the TV show "Leave it to Beaver", a family show of mom, dad and two sons, one nicknamed "Beaver", It ran from the mid or late 50's into the early 60's. You can still see it on the TVland channel on cable or dish systems. The local TC area radio station KQRS often runs sound bytes of that line also.
