bigbucks
When can we expect to know for sure dates on the early antlerless season & what areas will be open? Just curious couldn't find it on the DNR HSOforum & am trying to plan my fall as much as I can. This is probably a question for LCornice.
lcornice
Probably :-) Dates will be Oct. 11-12th but the areas haven't been selected yet.

I hope to see an early antlerless season in areas north of Duluth. The deer population has exploded to the point foresters cannot successfully replant pine in certain areas and the rise in deer numbers have corresponded to a decrease in area moose numbers (maybe some coorelation?). Anyway, I am glad to see intensive harvest zones north of town and think an early antlerless season would have an effect on reducing the herd to a more manageable level. Hopefully, it would also have the support of hunters as well.Just my two cents.
