I think they forgot how to hit the ball. After a nice 5 hit shutout by Sheets they get beat today like red headed step children allowing 10 runs and getting 2 hits and one run. I see the Mat Gamel was 1 for 1 with a double. I wonder how long it will take for Skalen to screw up his swing?

Thanks Snooze,

And thanks to the current Pale Hose and past Pale Hose for a most enjoyable Saturday. Mr. Thome went deep in the 15th to help my Pale Hose put one more nail in the Twinkie coffin and Maggs Ordonez did the same with the late inning long ball to bury the Twinks. Magic number just keeps getting smaller and smaller for my Pale Hose, but no time to rest with the Jays coming to town. GO KC! LOL

Not looking good. Philly's within 3 games and now Houston's snuck up on us and they're playing lights out right now. We'd better be able to take 2 of the next 3 but I don't like our chances with Parra going against Hamel tonight. Bush against Blanton Saturday (might be our best shot) and they haven't annouced a starter for Sunday to go up against Suppan.

There season continues to head down the crapper. It's like the whole team went into a funk when all they had to do was play .500 ball to get a wild card shot. No pitching, no hitting, errors at the worst possible time.

The sad thing is this was the year. Most likely Sheets and Sabathia will both be gone next season and after those two, there isn't a lot.

It appears that way. Here's what he had to say after the game Saturday.

Quote:
"I felt pretty good at the beginning, but that didn't last long," Sheets said. "The third inning jumped on me pretty good. It was pain.

"That's it. That's all I had. . . . It was all I had. . . for the year."

Sheets left no murkiness on that front. Unless he has a remarkable healing, he will be a cheerleader for whatever remains of this season.

Anyhoo, bring on the Philly's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the bats need to wake up. Hall, Hart, Hardy, and Weeks all have to start relaxing at the plate and hit like they're capable of hitting and we can beat anybody.

Deffinitely have to do a better job with RISP. Uke threw out some stats the other day, runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs they're hitting .209, with the bases loaded .194, and with the bases loaded and 2 outs .169.
