Lindy Lee
I have never had a pointer before and was wondering if it is important to have a locate feature on the e collar, or not? I am hoping to use the tone portion of the collar to get her to 1/4, but I have found that you can either have the tone or the locate option but not both. My dog is a French Brittiany so she is pretty small and I do not want to put a big 2 sided collar on her. I look forward to some replies. Thanks Lindy Lee
anyfishwilldo
Ive got the tritronics upland sport g3 on my bitt and it doesnt seem too large. The dogtra 2500 has the beeper integrated with the rest of the unit, but is a little more pricey and not as easy to add a dog.
Tom7227
I have two Dogtra collars, the newest being the 2500. It is very light and compact. I do not have the beeper function on constant beep while hunting as I find that aggravating. You can get it up so that when the dog goes on point it beeps. Also there is a function that is the 'locate.' A seperate button on the remotae gives a short beep so you can locate the dog. I find that feature invaluable for my 2 Brits who seem to be able to disappear even though they hunt close. The 2500 costs $375. I had tried a similar SportDog and didn't like it, perhaps because I was already familiar with the Dogtra products.
