FishRecycler
I'm going to be in Minneapolis meeting with the Recycled Fish board of directors next weekend (3/29-3/30). We have a lot of business to attend to, but wanted to do SOMETHING fun and fishing-related while we're in town. Even if it's not fishing, thoughts on something to do? Does Normark do any kind of a Rapala factory tour? I didn't find anything like that on their HSOforum, but had heard about it from someone who is in the industry (maybe tours are just for industry folks?) You guys have any kind of a freswater fish museum? Any open water opportunities in the metro next week? Safe ice?All but one of us is coming from out of town, looking for a couple-hour thing to break up our day so it's not all conference room time...Thoughts welcome!Teeg
Sandmannd
Welcome to FM. Not sure if you've been to a cabeleas, but they are always worth checking out. There's a new one in Rogers and it's not that bad of a drive from MPS. I'll let you know if I think of anything else.
Coach Dog
Interesting HSOforum, FishRecycler. Check out Cabela's or the Mall of America. I know you have a Bass Pro Shops in Council Bluffs, which I like better than Cabela's, but definitely worth checking out. There's also one in Owatonna if you're driving up. Scott K
Mississippi river around Red Wing is all open for boat fishing. Walleyes and Saugers should be biting pretty good around then.
youngie22
Alot of rivers open all around the area. Fishing should be very good all around. Some of the area lakes are still walkable and you may be able to find some nice panfish. should be alittle warmer and maybe all the snow gone by then... but you never now around here. FishRecycler
Hey, guys - thanks for the thoughts.Cabela's is one of our sponsors, so we're pretty familiar with their stores, but you guys do have some nice ones up there! That freshwater museum could be just the ticket - we'll look into it. If we can spare a little more time, we'll put rods in the water on one of those rivers. I doubt I'm gonna get these guys out for the late ice bite, although I personally LOVE ice fishing!Again, thanks for the ideas.Teeg
Tim_Anderson
Teeg,Let me know if you're interested in some guided fishing one of those days (or both). I have been doing really well on the river in the twin cities metro area. Good numbers of walleye and sauger, and a half dozen or so walleye 8 pounds or more. We boated a 12 pounder last Friday. Could be a good diversion for you guys?!
