Jiffy fuel ratio

dhuth

Question

I just got a 2001 Jiffy Legend. On the engine (3 hp-AV520) it says to use a 24:1 ratio but on the Jiffy HSOforum (http://www.jiffyonice.com/service.htm)it says to run 40:1. Any suggestions? Also, the base that the blades are mounted is wobbley, is this typical? I wouldn't assume so, but I don't know... Its a 10" which is too big so I think I'm selling it anyway.

I believe Jiffy has 2 different oils out now. The traditional oil that is mixed 24:1 and the new synthetic which is mixed 40:1. I believe Tecumseh approved the leaner ratio with the synthetic recently. I know you can use either in the 2hp, not sure about the 3hp.

I would think you should be able to use either, just mix appropriately for the one you are using.

Hope that helps!
