The Hammer
I have 3 great days on the water that stand out more than others. Two were on the border waters of Crane Sand Point etc... First I was with my wife on those two occasions. First one was giant smallies biggest being around 6 lbs as fast as the lure hit the water, they were trying to get the lure out of the other fishes mouth right up to the boat. Second same area, limit of crappies 13 1/2" to 14 1/2". 30 total smallest was 13". Last was last year Rainy River 3 walleyes 2 12lb 1 13 1/2lb fish. Although any day is great as long as you are on the water. I will be starting this Saturday on the river.

b1gf1sh1
fishing the mississippi in a pool i know. has drains comming in and a well known creek mouth just upstream, and a dam upriver a little furthur. when the water is just right the muskie, northern and smallies congregate there like little sunfish do around a dock. my best time there was 8 hookups on muskie, with 5 landed, 6 northern over 35''s a bunch of littler ones and some smallies in the 2 - 5 lb. range. all in a little over two hours, then, as usual, the tourists came stomping around and it was over. white angora rabbit spinnerbait was the only lure used. just about every cast was at least a hit. this spot that is no bigger than a small backyard pool. over the years i've had many very nice times there but this is the best i've ever done anywhere.been fishing that area off and on, here and there for 30+ years and every year it produces like this when that water is just so. too high can be ok, too low can be ok too. just so ... freakin' awsome every time. Traxxx
Last summer we were out muskie fishing on nice, flat calm evening. I ended up catching three muskies in an hour between 5pm & 6pm. A 36",42" & 49" that all went ariel. The 49" almost launched into the boat. They were almost jumping "into" the boat that night. Won't forget that one. PDXFisher
The two days of fly fishing for Pike in the SikSika reserve, catching 60 or so was about as much fun as I've had. Fly fishing for Chum in Puget Sound was pretty amazing as well. I expect fly fishing for Chum in Alaska this coming July will compete, unless some day in the month I plan to spend in MN in June sets the bar too high. Finally catching my first Muskie was a *great* day.
