I read a lot of saltwater sites, and it's surprising how often someone gets speared, slashed, or slapped by a marlin coming in the boat. Or pulling an angler, mate, or wireman overboard. One of the boats in the tourny I observed for in Dec had a marlin snap off a portion of it's bill when it rammed it thru the tuna tube on the back of the boat. The May tourny saw a guy get a good scrape from a marlins bill, very close call. And thats just in 20 boats for 3 days....stuff happens more often than you think.
