Drugs in our water

There is a great series on drugs in the water and the impact they may have on people and wildlife. Neither of the Twin Cities Papers have run the story. You can find the series at

http://www.denverpost.com/

It takes a bit of computer skill to get the entire series but it's worth the read. Tests show only caffiene in the Minneapolis Supply but some really horrid stuff in other areas of the country.

Check it out.

I saw that story on the news last night. I don't recall what the amount was that they were finding, but I imagine there is still more lead in our water than drugs. I'm also more concerned about pesticides in our water.

Now what would happen if that eye had a bottle of viagra in it's mouth? You think there would be more little eyes in the river? Maybe instead of stocking the water we should just throw some pills down them before we release them.

Don't rely just on what you saw on the news as they barely scratched the surface. This is today's headline -

Pharmaceutical traces taking toll on wildlife

Fish, birds and algae are showing adverse effects, including severe reproductive problems.

biggest conspiracy, non-story ever, EVER. bottled water industry must have their own reporters. i can't believe the press that this story keeps getting. always had cyanide in our water in trace amounts. i just can't take it anymore, need some open water soon.

In-case you guys were wondering the Minneapolis tap water portion of the study was conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey between 2000 and 2002, before the city built a new ultra filtration system in Columbia Heights in 2005.

Our water is incredibly clean here in MPLS and the surrounding area's that use our system the only reason were talking about this is the testing procedures are so much better and of course the media likes to glorify things.

Guess I can cut down on the Java now that we have cafeine in our water. \:\/

I saw the report a few times and I can't wait, with the cost of groceries, formula, gas, ect...it's nice to know I can drink water from my tap and get all of the tylenol, caffine, and so many other drugs I wont have to buy anymore!

Kind of what I was thinking, I had to laugh when I heard them say it on the news.

Apparently it's not just from people dumping pills down the drain, but also can be passed from the body back into water supplies.

I wonder about illegal drugs that are flushed when cops show up?
