Scott Steil
Think of it as a "balance" for your rod & reel capable of detecting the smallest bites.------------------Mille Lacs Guide Servicewww.millelacsguideservice.com
iffwalleyes
Prophet097 they are a rod holder. you take one of your rod and reel combos and balance it across a peg that it on the holder and you fish with out a bobber when a fish bites it pulls the rod tip to the floor and that is your bit indicator to set the hook.------------------Grip it and Rip itIFFWalleyesI Fish For Walleyes[email protected]
Hubcat
What if the fish swims up when it bites, will it tip up a little to indicate a bite?
WallEYES
Yes it will lift the rod when a fish swims up. A lot of people that fish URL have use these and are amazed, becaue most of the crappies are on the bottom and take the bait up ward. I accually watched a finicky URL crappie lift my rod 2-3 inches in 30 seconds before I set the hook. These are rod balansers and the whole rod is the strike indicator. You will not lose your rod on hard striking fish. I have deadsticked pike and Lake Trout using 36+ inch rods and have not lost one yet. These things are the cats meow for dead sticking fish...so simple, but yet deadly.
Duffman
Hubcat.....Exactly as you describe it. Fish goes up with the bait, the rod rises. Fish go down with the bait, the rod sinks.
