fishing addict
What size tank do you have on your fishouse? I am building a 6.5 x 12 on a drop down frame and am considering going with two 20 pound tanks on the tongue, mainly because it is convienient to exchange these. Would I be better off going with an 80 or 100 pound tank instead? any drawback on either one? thanks
iffwalleyes
I use a 100 lb on my house and have a 20 lbs back up for if it runs out. Now if you plan to leave the house on the lake and you want let it heat over night probably best to go with the 100. The only disadvantage I see it that it adds weight which isn't a big deal on a house that size. I seen many people do what you are planning with 2 20lbs so the would work fine as well. There really are not advantages/disadvantages to either as long as you get your heat. The 100 lb tank on mine lasted all last winter and part of the winter before and I still have some in it. But I don't run it overnight only when I am there but it is just one less thing to worry about.------------------Grip it and Rip itIFFWalleyesI Fish For Walleyes
End of the Line
May want to consider the 30# tanks too. Easy to handle and usually on 30# will get you thru 3 nites without worry!------------------End of the Line ChartersLake Superior1-888-U-HOOK-EMwww.fishontheline.com
IcePro
I have a 6x14 Ulta Shack. I origanly had 2/20# tanks. Last year I switched to 2/30# tanks. When I decided to go to a bigger tanks,I first considered going to 2/40# tanks but felt they were a little heavy. The 2/30# tanks are easy to handle and give you more than enough propane enough for a weekend of fishing. big_fish_guy
depending on what you are using it for, if you draw a large demand off a little tank(like a 20#) it will freeze up. For just a normal heater and some lights, you should be fine. But if you are going to be using a stove and other stuff, I would go with at least a 60. 100 would be better.
