Guide Series Supreme ice rod for deadsticking?

What do you deadsticking guys think of the Guide Series Supreme super ultralight rods? I got one earlier this season and after using it I think its great. I haven't used the more expensive rods but was wondering how you think it compares? Just want to make sure i'm not missing out. Do you think I need to use a spring bobber with this type of rod?

Thanks!

I believe I have that guide series rod. I love it for panfishing. The tip is awsome its like having a spring bobber. I went back to buy another for a backup but they were out. Hope they duplicate it next year.

I think it was inteded for panfishing not deadsticking. I dont know if it has the backbone you would want for targeting larger predators but I have landed a few bass up to two pounds on it.

I have one and love it. In fact a friend like it so much, he went out and got one. I pulled in a 24in pike on one with 2lb test, it bit a ratso tipped with eurolarvae. That was fun!!

I bought two ultra lite supremes for myself this year and absolutely love them. However, during the start of the season I was beginning to wonder about the durability and craftsmanship of them, being I had both of them break on me while in my rod locker, which has never happened before with any other rod types/styles. I returned them back to get 2 in return and been pleased ever since. I must have got a bad batch or something. I have mine spooled with 1# & 2# fireline, and works real well. Other than my flasher, it's a pan fishermans must have!.
