Barred Owl - Winter Shot.

Got one good shot at this guy when he was at eye level before he hightailed it up into the trees. I guess they must stay around in the winter also but I haven't seen them down near the cities before. I read in my bird book that they can see 100 times better than humans at night - glad I am not the size of a mouse stumbling around at midnight in the woods.

Nice shot! I have always liked the dark eyes on a barred owl. Owls are some of the neatest birds around.
