VEXILAR -Transducer question

planning on purchasing a Vexilar FL18 this weekend. I've been told to get it with the 12 dgree transducer and I've also been told to get the 19 degree. I don't want to spend the upgrade to the 9-to-19 degree. I do most of my fishing in 25 feet or less, which transducer would serve me best?

I have the fl-18 with both the 12 & 19 transducers for it.I bought the 19 for very shallow water.Here`s a link that shows you the cone angles. vexilar Either one will work just fine for you.

I have a fl-20 with the dual beam and really like the setup, but if I was to get one beam I would definately get the 12. I have seen the 12 in use on other vexilars and it is really a good overall beam, working well both shallow and deep and descent in weeds.

I have the 12 degree on my FL-18 and think it is a very good all around option. The dual beams are spendy - if you go that route they have been having some problems it hanging so it points straight down - it is an easy fix described in the instructions that should come with the transducer.

Thanks, done deal - went with the 12 degree.
