90's Chicago Bulls Dynasty

After watching the Pats lose last night (a conclusion which I was rooting for), I found myself thinking about the 90's Chicago Bulls dynasty. I was a huge Bulls fan. Throughout grade school I had Chicago Bulls everything. About half a dozen caps, a starter jacket, a Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman jersey, Michael Jordan "Wings" poster, t-shirts for every year they won it all, zubaz, wind pants and jacket, you name it, and I probably had it in Chicago Bulls. I loved those teams, I love Jordan.

Now I'm older and I can't stand dynasties like these...If you count the Lakers in the early part of this decade and the Patriots in football. I don't like those teams because they win every year and they're cocky. But in his prime, Jordan was cocky too. He once said "There is no 'I' in team, but there is an 'I' in win." For me, rooting for Jordan was like rooting for America. I considered the Bulls America's team...they certainly were more than the Dallas (Felons?) Cowboys. I just appreciated how they did things with the Triangle offense, bit players stepping up, etc.

So I guess I am wondering, do you look back fondly on the 90's Bulls dynasty? Did you cheer for the Bulls?

They were pretty easy to cheer for when the Wolves were going 22-60 for the first 5 years of the decade. Bulls vs Knicks was a great playoff series to watch. That move when Jordan spun baseline and dunked on Patrick Ewing. Still gives me chills.

I never thought those Bulls teams were all that great. They had Jordan and Pippen, then what? Rodman? Wennington? Paxton? Just a bunch of role players around two superstars. If they had played in a slightly different era they may never have won a championship. The Bulls of the 90s couldn't hold a candle to the Celtics or Lakers of the 80s.

??? Jordan and Pippen and a bunch of role players is exactly what they needed....They would have hung right in with the Celts and Lakers of the 80's not saying who's better but the Bulls definatly would not be blown away by those teams!! Jordan was just to dominant!!! Who would guard him?

You're right, no one could guard Jordan. In fact, he scored sixty-some points against the Celts in the '86 playoffs, I believe. The Bulls lost the game in OT and got swept for the series. Jordan started his career in what, '84? The Bulls didn't become a force until the early nineties when all the really good competition was gone.

The comp was gone??? maybe the celts but at that time Jordan didn't even have another person on his team to help......once he got help his teams were tough to match!!! he did win a championship over the Lakers I thought.........

The dynastic competition was gone. If you look at the teams the Bulls beat in the finals, they weren't in the same ballpark as the Celtics and Lakers of the 80s. Look at it this way: the only time the Malone/Stockton Jazz teams could make it to the finals was way late in their careers--when the Bulls beat them. They could never get past the Lakers in the 80s.

Juggs ever heard of 72-10? I think they could play with anyone, anywhere, anytime. My dad and I religiously watched the Bulls of the 90's, I was born and raised in northern IN. It was a lot of fun the first few rings, but by the 72-10 season came around it was almost boring at times because the outcome was almost predictable. Aren't most teams led by a star with role players playing their roles around the star? You can't compare Jordan of the 80's with Jordan of the 90's. Two different players due to age and experience. I will say though my favorite player was always Scottie Pippen through the run. Just an all around player that helped in elevating Jordan to the next level.

After saying all this though, the game is almost agonizing to watch now.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
