Wayne Sieber
Guys - A whole lot of ranting and raving going on here but....Am I done supporting the Gopher Hockey Program? Heck NO!! Hardcore Fan here, I will never quit on these guys and this season but I tell you what, I am DONE watching Gopher Hockey on FSN North! I don't know about anyone else, but after tonight, especially when FSN cut out for a short time and showed the Wisconsin Badger/UMD game instead (I don't know why this happened by the way?)in the second period and I saw just how loyal and positive the annnouncers were about Badger Hockey, that was it. I am so dang sick of the negativity and downing of the Gophers by "muskrat head" Mazocko and Dud Woog this whole season, total [PoorWordUsage] man. I am totally shutting this piece of [PoorWordUsage] duo down on my TV this year. I know that some of you guys think those two losers are "homers" but it was sure nice when the Badgers announcers were nothing but positive and cool about nothing but Badger Hockey. One thing I know is that I have never heard Mazocko scream so loud when the Gophers scored an overtime goal (and yep, I know it has been a while...) like UND did tonight (dang Sioux..) Good Bye FSN.....
DEADhead
to be fair, the maroon and gold haven't given the dudly duo much good to talk about this year.PS, if you think the gopher broadcasts are bad on FSN, wait until you have to watch all their games on the BigTen Network. Talk about a a cold and sterile broadcast.
ole
I have to agree with Dead on this one. The team looked like they didn't even want to be out there near the end of the 3rd period. They basiclly looked tired and let NoDak take the play to them. And oh ya FSN really stinks. They should have just left the Badger game on! ole As for the Big-Ten Network, I wish they would come up with a compromise with Comcast because I'm tired of not being able to watch the games.. Good Bye FSN..... I think you need to get off the ledge FeetDown. Wooger is fairly objective and usually calls it like he sees it, with a "slight" Gopher POV. There is not much of a bigger homer than Mazacko. He wouldn't give credit a team not wearing maroon and gold if his life depended on it. Wouldn't you rather have them call an ojective game, pointing out good play and bad, what can be improved on and what's working instead of blowing smoke and sugar plumb fairies? Each and every FSN Gopher hockey broadcast is heavily slanted promoting the Gopher nation - no doubt about that. I think it's good that they're being honest about the team's situation. jwhjr
That was a nice goal for sure. I hated to see the Gophers lose, but at least it was a great play.
backstrap
Totally agree with Shorelunch! As for Trupp's game winner, it was so sweet it even made the ESPN highlights this morning!
Wapiti
Quite obvious they are going to promote "gopher nation"...afterall, that is the team they cover the entire year! Evidently it isn't that obvious to you fellows??? It would be like watching Vikings weekly and have the entire show be about the Packers. Here's a tip...don't like it, don't watch...it's called free will! Instead watch the channel that covers the sue...wait, there isn't one! Well hopefully a station out of Winnipeg or Moose Jaw will pick up coverage at some point! Good luck!

BTW, UND does have their own broadcasts of their home games. No go crawl back in your little gopher hole . . .
Team Otter
Sometimes the truth hurts. Hardcore Gopher fan here too but they've turned out to be less than average this year. Even a broadcaster can't screw that up.

jwhjr
Fireworks aside at the end of the game, I thought that the last 6 minutes or so of regulation and then the OT period was pretty entertaining as far as end to end action. I don't think there was a whistle for the last 5-6 minutes of regulation. Both goalies made some clutch saves for sure.
solbes
Guess everyone has their opinion. I enjoy the Wooger/Frank combo most of the time. Tough for the announcers to always stay positive when they see things that need a lot of improvement. It's just an off year for the Goph's. I believe they will be better next year, although I still see less offensive talent than usual. Goaltending has improved with thier freshman Kangas.I thought that OT goal on Friday was pretty exciting. From what I've seen in the last year or two, it's in my top five.I was watching quite a bit of the Bulldog/Badger game on Friday. Lucky if your broadcast switched to this game, because both of my FSN games switched to the Best D### Sports Show with Snoop Dog for the 2nd period! And as a Bulldog fan I got pretty sick of the Badger broadcaster (where was Sags?) knocking Stalock's style of play. Yes it's different, and yes it might at times be a liability when he's out of position. Still versus Connelly, he has a better win %, better save %, better GAA, and generates some offense.
