Heater conversion

Ok, what if any, is the process for converting an Empire vented furnace from Natural Gas to Propane. I am told it can be done, but is it worth it. I have been offered a new one for next to nothing, but it is Natural Gas.

you cant beat an empire heater.i almost bought 1 for new house but the price was way outa my league.my buddy has an empire for the last 10yrs not 1 problem with it.

I believe its just a orphis adjustment to propane specs.

Drill it out to required size per btu rate? I saw a table once that actually showed "bit size" used on a btu chart a year ago or so.

I thinks thats all the kits are or some sort of "meter" replacement in the valve.

Someone will know for sure but I heard it's a simple process myself.

if its natural gas---you have to have a new orfice to convert it to propane. check with your local heating guys they can get the kit you need.
