i had the same thing with my h2o, i had to switch the software setting to read navionics instead of lowrance software. i don't know if it would be the same for garmin, look in the manual's index under software. hope this helps.

If that's what you buy that's what you get. They also have a product that works on the computer. When you order it you have to be sure to specify which GPS system you're going to use as it is different stuff for Lowrance and Garmin. Some folks have asked about being able to download a map from the SD card onto the computer. I have tried and not succeeded, but I'm over 12 years old so the computer stuff gets to be a challenge.

I have the exact same setup. You should be able to view the lake map as soon as you have any location on the lake's coordinates. It is possible that you could have a map for Lowrance. Your Garmin unit will not read a Lowrance formatted map.

They had accidentally put a MN label on a Wisconsin Chip. I was wondering why I couldn't see any of my favorite lakes (or even Mille Lacs). I figured it out when I searched for the nearest boat launch and it took me to Wisconsin. Swapped it out for an identical chip with a MN label, and like magic all of my lakes were on there.

These things happen to me all the time. If something is "some assembly required" you can rest assured that I received two left-handed table turners and not a left and a right.
