Questions on Fish House Purchase

We are looking into purchasing a fish house after we sell ours at the end of the season. We would prefer a 6.5' x 14' v-front and we prefer to finish the interior ourselves. I am sure that plenty of people have done this, but I am wondering what kind of fish house you purchased (Ice Castle, etc) and who got the best price? Who was willing to work with you most? What kind of heater did you go with?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks ,

DL

woody, I too went through this whole...where should I get it, what kind is best, what layout works best, all the questions. I found many who were great dealers or manufacturers to talk to, but then I found one I was very comfortable with and trusted completely. shoot me an email and I will talk to you more, but I feel your pain. It was the same way for me a couple years ago when I bought my new camper. UHHHHHHGGGGG!!!!

I'm in your same boat. Originally I was going to purchase the frame, and finish it up myself, but I want a smooth aluminum exterior, and I'm not doing that project on my own. The Soderbloom fish houses seem to be an incredible value, and are all aluminum. They have spray foam insulation, which in my opinion is very important. From what I've gathered here, a fully finished 6 1/2 x 16 house will come in at just under 2,000#.

If I were buying my own frame, it would be the Tundra from Fish House Supply.

I own a Soderbloom house. It is a 8 x 20 "V" front.

I finished it by myself. The ones they are building now are more heavy duty than mine. It was the first and maybe the only 8' he made. I made it realy fancy, Knotty pine interior, 4 bunks, kitchen w/stove and microwave, two tv's, bathroom. etc.

It got a little heavier than I planned, but not to heavy. There are only a few things I would have him change.
