Armada - Any Info?

All,

I have an opportunity to purchase an Armada Fish and Ski (18.5' glass). I have checked it out and think it would be a great fishing and family boat, and the price is right. I cannot find any info on the Web about Armada boats however. Anyone have any insight on this manufacturer?

Thanks for any/all info.

Never heard neither. This is not a good sign. Why would you want to buy something it is not even available on a search online ?

What happens if you need some work done ?

I would stay with more known brands.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not so concerned about the issues you raise, I thought the same things. I have seen the boat and it is very nice and has been well cared for. He has all the paperwork for the maintenance he has had done and any dealer could work on it. It has a Suzuki 115, custom canvas cover, all electronics and the trailer is in great shape. If you saw it in the water you'd think it was a Triton or Ranger. I have looked and seen the same boats on various sites advertising boats for sale, I'm just wondering if they went out of business or something. It's an older boat, so warranty issues are no a concern. I believe they are/were based out of Tennessee or Kentucky.

One of the guys in our tuesday night bass league runs an armada bass boat. I had never heard of one before so I was asking about them. I guess the company was small and used to make hand made racing boats but ventured into the bass boat market for a few years. His boat had a 150 suzuki and was fast, probably went about 63mph. It would beat anything else with a 150hp or 175 outboard. The boat was decent but likely won't have any resale value kinda like a Cajun.

Thanks for the information!

I feel better knowing this and will probably move forward with the purchase. I took a test ride in this boat and can attest to the performance. I thought a 115 was a little underpowered for a heavy 18.5' glass boat, but it planes out immediately and runs smooth. It is nice to ride on top of rollers and not through them.

What I like is the versatility of this boat. It can transform in literally 3 minutes from a full on fishing machine to a "day on the lake" family boat. I have no doubt it will be a good boat for us.

Thanks again for the info - It is appreciated.

Bassphis, I'm drawing a blank right now but i'm fairly certan his name is Jerry. I know he did win our tourney on oscar last season. He fishes with a really tall skinny guy now, and I can't remember his name. There can't be too many guys around alex with an armada. They are cool guys and fun to talk to after the weigh-in.

Oscar is home water,I fished a couple of Lake Association tourneys on Oscar with Jerry a few years back.He is a real good stick, and I miss not having fished with him in a while.I only got too ride in his Armada a few times, but for an unknow boat brand up this way,I came away fairly impressed.I used to tow my Nitro up when we fished some of the small tourneys we where in,I think I will give him a ring this spring and see if he needs a partner again.
