That is what I have been doing for the last couple of months. This is what I have been doing, I had to show someone...

The pre. I wished I had taken some images of pre-sheet rock, but here we go

I have been working none stop every night know. I spent to much time “cat fishing” last summer and the wife put the crack down this winter. I am starting Wayne’s coat and trim tomorrow. Plus I just got a 3” trim nailer to hang the doors. I have done it "all" my self, if anyone see's anything that should be done another way, let me know. More to come…..

I will have most if not all done this week..

Nice work Josh. It is very satisfying knowing you did all that yourself. I went through the same process a few years back, and it was a chore.....

I'll look through my pics, I've got a bunch.

If you don't mind I'll throw a couple up in this post.

Looks pretty good. I see plumbing for a wet bar in there. Nice. So when were you planning to come over and work on my basement? I did half of it last year when I bought the house. My buddy rents out the basement, we did his bedroom and the bathroom, and have yet to finish the living room. I have some changes that are going to take place for the living room though before it gets finished.

But for the time being, I have some venison jerky to make.

The thing I think I will do differently though is use carpet rather than the laminate/wood floor. I have wood upstairs, and so far in the basement, in the bedroom we did carpet and it is nice. We used some laminate tiles for the bathroom and it turned out nice as well, but the carpet definitely makes it easier to walk around. I can't stand having cold feet.

Tom,

The reason for the wood flooring is because of my buddies (shoes and track marks). When buddies come over, they will make it from the garage to the basement without hitting any carpet. We also figured the added value of having wood floors in the house would increase the value of the house and with the fact of having no wood floor’s up stairs, kind of sealed the deal. I did buy the best insulation for under the flooring, but I know it will still be cold.

Ah, well! I will buy nice furniture to keep me warm. The Family room is going to be a theater. I will have a 60” plus TV on the far wall and theater (leather) style seating on the main floor.

The wife made me do it!!!!!!!!

P.S.

I was told it is not a bar, but a serving area grin.gif

Ok....you asked for it cool.gif

It started with one wall. The first wall I ever built

Then the walls multiplied

Then came the elec, fireplace, plumbing and drywall

after all that, which was 2 bedrooms, laundry room, bathroom, and family room. I thought well let's do the deck while I'm at it.

Then I thought....hmmm a screen porch would be nice

Looking back, I still can't believe I didn't have any help whatsoever doing this, other than my wife helping out with the deck beam.

I get sore just looking at these crazy.gif

shackbash,

Looks very awsome!!! I am in the process of doing my basement also(for 2 years). I was wondering, how did you do the floor? Is it done just the same as on a main floor with a would base. I guess I was wondering how it works on concrete floor? thanks for the help!!

I can respect that statement.

I literary did bust a nut 3 years ago from building my house. I have the permanent patch/stich going for me from the Princeton ER.

I also run a hauling, landscaping and concrete business on the side..

Nice work, did mine a few years ago and it's a lot of work. Mine is small though, just a bath, store room, laundry and man room. Tom, I put carpet in my basement, but I'm gonna tear it up this year and put laminant down. We have pets and they reek havic on it all the time. Have wood upstairs and it's much better.

I had a suspended ceiling in the basement and wanted to sheet rock it. I tore out the ceiling...... two years ago. I just finished sheet rocking and now I am in the process of doing the mud.

You might ask what my motivation is all of a sudden..... the wife says I can get a recliner when I and finished.

Awesome work guys. Seeing those pictures brings back some horrible memories. My house used to be a one room school house. In 1954 it was moved 7 miles to where it's sitting now. Looking around I'd never know a bunch of snot nosed kids used to get edumacated in this building.

My back is sore from just looking at those pictures.

Thanks guys.

Sand, I have been more busy lately than I though I was going to be. Between the couple of projects I have going and the basement, I have not been able to get out fishing for a couple weeks now. I am rounding third and heading into home and I will let you know when I start fishing like a freak again. Momma still has me under her thumb and that will end soon. LOL.

Here are some updated images of how the basement is coming. These where taken last weekend Sunday and we have most of the trim up now and elec. covers. I left the camera over at a relatives house and when we get it back, I will bring this up to speed a little further. Its coming down to the end, then I have to go into the bedrooms. I think I will wait until the end of March or April for those rooms.

I know the Waynes coating is pretty dark, but it was a gift from my father in-law last year before he passed away. I tried lighting it up, but after having the panels in place down their for a couple day (not nailed), it starting to grow on me. It kind of gives it a rustic look. The stuff is like 3/8” thick and my father in-law paid go money for it. Now the trim is up, when we put a rug down, have furniture and other wall stuff up. It will blend in nice. It also goes with the woods in our back yard you can see threw the windows.
