Hard to say. My camera doesn't work well in stained water. It has some lights on it and works a little but I think they are more for daytime use with good water clarity.

Don't know about the Infrared add-ons. But generally, infrared is now regarded as largely inferior technology for viewing at night.

Right now, the best night underwater camera light system is Aqua-Vu's new Explorer system. Should be available on their HSOforum, I believe as a camera only system that adds on to any current AV monitor. Or you can just buy their Underwater Flood Light, which can be added on to any fish cam style camera. Think this runs about $20.

IMO if you watch the video's at Aqua-Vu's site the fish seem to be spooked by the camera and light at night........

I have the led lighting on my camera, and when it gets dark, the camera gets pulled up. IMO, save your money, and thank your wife for not letting you waste the money on the more expensive camera with the lights. Plus the thanking your wife may lead to her allowing a future purchase of something else(alterior motive).

I've got 2 or 3 different light settings on my camera and they do work to some degree, but it really is a waste of time. I like comparing the results to turning on your high beams during a snow storm. I usually pull my camera before the night bite picks up.
