2 Questions for everyone!?

Alright, I have two questions for all of you.

One: I have an older fish finder, flasher style, but it is designed for open water use. I have been using it by just dropping it in the water with a little PVC rig I have to keep it pointed straight down the hole, just wondering if anyone has had luck with a decent rig to keep it pointing in the right direction.

Two: My father and I are getting itchy for a fun winter project and we were thinking about building our own portable ice house and were looking for any tips that anyone might be willing to share (I tried doing a search but I couldn't get it to work..so if you could point to me other posts that would be great too!).

cant help you on the portable, but isnt it possible to buy transducer floats for your cable from say vexilar. not sure if it would work as i dont know what your setup is, but it is a thought.

sub 2x2's for PVC and you've got what I use for the fish lo-k-tor

if you're going to build one my thoughts would be to make durn sure you go big enough to be comfortable with the expected size fishing party, winter clothes and all your gear, while at the same time not so large as it becomes (a) too large to move comfortably, and ( to large to effectively heat... that'd be my two cents. anyway, best of luck woth your projects!

The search function hasn't been working correctly for a couple of weeks. It started acting funny when they started working on upgrades to make the site run better.
