I'm not missing it this year. Seems like every year there is something that is conflicting with this, but I have made certain that I will come down for the day. Probably on Saturday! Can't wait!!!

Oh... You got lot to learn, dont ya, little Padawan??? That the Muskie Expo is definitely WORTH the suffering of being at a mall all day... Just make sure the mall has a sporting goods so you can kinda browse thru the fishing stuff or whatsoever... Thats what I'd do! LOL

Rebel,

Contact George Wahl at 763-588-9107. He should be able to give you a list of exhibitors. I'll be at my booth. Stop in and say hi.

which booth? that way I can stop by as well.

Rebel, it's definitely worth it!!!! As long as we do something for her and/or the kid, she's content with me spending some time doing my thing. Plus, she gets a lot of "girl time" with her friends while I'm happily "stuck" :grin with the little one!!! Nothing like a little daddy/son time!!!!!!! I just cant wait until he can pick up his own baitcaster with a nice big tandem bucktail on the end of it!!!!! grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

King:

Hang on cause he will be out throwing bucktails with dad before you know it. My 7 year old is a big time muskie kid already......when the boat is hooked up, he wants to fish muskie. Can't hardly get him to fish pannies anymore. Hasn't hooked into one yet, but has had a follow and a nice pike and bass. Took him on his first day long outing last summer and he hung with it all day!! It is just awesome! cool.gif

Hiya -

I'll be there for the whole show, working in the Esox Angler Booth (using a rather liberal definition of the term 'working' here smile.gif), hanging out at the Professional Edge booth, or wandering about.

I go to some of the other shows, like Chicago, etc., but the MN show is always my favorite. I know so many people in the building that I spend most of the time just catching up with friends.

Stop by and say hi if you're there...

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

As most parents will agree, I don't want him to grow up too fast. I can't believe he's already 6 weeks old!!!! I love watching him as he looks around and "discovers" things, yet I can't wait to take him out in the boat for muskies, pannies, and everything else as well as the field for some good hunting. Maybe i can convince the wifey to take him to the expo. grin.gif I think I'd get a definite YES! if I throw in bringing the little one to the expo.

I contacted George Wahl last week regarding the Expo... He said that I'd have to wait til I get to the Expo to get the listing... but that there will be 140 exhibitors... so way I figure... 7 rows with 20 booths each... gotta be a good sized expo... Dang... 45 days left... Im really getting excited for the show... got the bucks ready to be spent!!!

Hiya -

Hahaha... I forgot to even mention: I'll be giving a seminar there on Sunday.

Rebel, many of the main muskie lure manufacturers and retailers are at the show, an a lot of the smaller mfgs do custom 'who color' baits you can't get elsewhere or any other time of year. Plus there are rod builders, gear, resorts...all sorts of stuff. George puts on a great show.

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

Fun show..been to em all for long periods or short.....

Like state fair midway for people watchen.

Lots of swelled egos an heads also.

\:\)

All good stuff to be had...somethin for every style muskie fish fishen you do.

If RK is speaking you know most people will be at the snake bar round that time.

;\)

All fun times though...newbies can learn a few things an old gray beards too.

Just don't take it to seriously ...it is after all just fishen.

Keep on Rocken.

Hey Scoot -

I honestly don't know what I'm going to talk about yet. I have I think 4 seminars coming up this spring, so kind of have to mix and match topics. I have a couple ideas kicking around but not sure what I'll end up doing yet.

Think I'm heading to Fargo to speak sometime this spring - gotta email Brett back and check on dates.

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

Yeah RK I saw the seminar listing... and saw that you're on for Sunday... Oh yes... I've been reading up on other forums that talked about the Chicago expo... and Im getting very excited about the MN Expo... I already made a wish list... all I can say is that I definitely will be SPENDY... and I'll be coming home with plenty of new lures (some would be pink, ofc) along with net, rods, reels, etc etc... Im basically ready for it... just have to wait 45 days... ahhh the agony!!! I more likely will go two days... one day to really SHOP and one day to get whatever I forgot the other day... I would love to catch the seminars... but seeing how Im deaf... it would basically be pointless... Dont worry I'll be as friendly as I can be LOL

Rebel,

Not at all excited, are you?

Good news is that it's a ways from the parking lot to the door, so you can run and burn off some steam on the way in! grin.gif

Fun show, good deals, and a great way to do some product comparing and buying all under one roof.

I plan on being there for RKs seminar on Sunday, the guy knows so much about muskies that it boarders on being scary! At the very least, I can take some high level notes and relay them to you.

Chris

Not sure yet about availability, but I'll likely be there for some of it. If I'm able to be there during your talk, I'll definitely swing in for it. I'll even try to leave the rotten fruit and eggs at home! ;\)

When you get a date in stone for heading up this way, please try remember to shoot me an e-mail and let me know when it is. I'm very hit and miss (much more miss) as far as attendance, so I'll make it a point to be around when you come up if I know when it is.

Take care,

Scoot

Excited?? nah... Obsessed would be more of it... it has been on my mind most of the time lately... I can see that in other thread you're already counting down to the season opener... 2008 is going to be very exciting year for Muskie Fishing...

the walking excercise from parking lot to the door, along with walking around on the inside all day... sounds good... along with hauling all the goodies back to the car (back n forth, Im sure) sounds good... Got few lbs I need to lose anyways so its all good... LOL

Along with meeting FMers at the Expo... seeing new lures, new stuff, and spending big bucks for them is what I am looking forward to BIG TIME!!!

My brother will be coming along and hes hearing so he can do some interpreting, just not sure which day he'll be going... so your high-level notes would be greatly appreciated... Only if RK would take us fishing as part of his seminar... then imagine how much we could pick apart his mind!!!

Two things comes to mind...

First... What would your advice be for method of payment at this show??? Would credit card be accepted by all vendors??? Or would cash/check be a better idea??? Im kinda worried with all those cash I would have to carry to buy all those stuff I need/want...

Second... Will there be a get-together event after the Expo on Saturday??? The Lure Swap & Social thing??? Where would it be at??? I am definitely interested in attending this...

Matty... Hope you can make it to the Expo... Let me know when you plan on going... Hope Stephen & Katie can tag along too... Same goes for you, Grant, and anybody else who would want to meet me...
