NoodleSalad
Put at least 2 feet of mono to the end of your tip-up line. If you want to catch a walleye anyway. Use a triple surgeon knot. -NS-

LuckyFish
Dan what type of tip-up do you have? If you have the kind with the cross bar on top you just hook the flag arm under the cross bar. The bar has a smooth side and a notched side if you are using heavy baits say for northern use the notched side, if you are using a fathead or similar bait for walleyes you can use the smooth side. I hope this helps you.Good Fishing Lucky

Guest
Do you have the old style of Tipup that has three wooden pieces with a spool at the bottom and metal linkage up the long wood piece? Or do you have one of the new high tech ones?Wishin2BFishin
Guest
Take a good look at your tip-up and then do your best to describe it. There are lots of different tip-ups and it is tough to help with knowing what kind you have. Scott Steil

Steve Foss
Hey Dan:Did you see your original post got moved to the Equipment/Expert Information board? It's low down on the first page if you get to it soon, otherwise you'll have to scroll down and click on the number 2 at the bottom of that board to call up the next oldest page. You have a reply or two there that will help you on tip-ups and on this site in general.------------------"I've driven farther before to catch fewer fish . . ."Steve Foss[email protected]
