Why wont chat work?

why wont the chat button thingy load on my computer at school? it loaded fine at home and now that i am at school it wont load no matter how long i let it sit, i have windows 98 here and XP at home is that why?

Your firewall at school is preventing you from going out to the chat site.

but i was able to get on the other day through my buddies comp just down the hall

I can't get on the chat from my work place.

Firewalls only block certain addresses or protocols, if someone down the hall can get there, get the latest Internet explorer.
