icehook
Has anyone else tried this stuff. Tried to shot a doe the other day when it was about 5 above and the powder didnt ignite. So triple 7 is loaded.
lawdog
Boy prior to this post I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this powder. One guy I hunt with can't brag it up enough...
vister
i have heard of nothing but great things about it. however, i prefer the triple seven pellets instead. they fit the barrel better. shockey pellets are long and skinny, hence leaving more open space, which leads to a touch less distance the bullets head down the barrel. also, new gun, or freshly cleaned, ALWAYS fire at least one primer without a powder charge. the hot flash will burn any oil, and blast any gunk out of the flash hole.i used to have a problem with the powder not igniting after a fresh clean job. i fire two primers after each cleaning, and haven't had a problem since. kc0myy
My friend got 2 bottles out the AP sticks and he does not like them because they crunch down and sometimes leave a air space. and put the round all over the place.
realtower
Well you had me worried about the powder going off when it was cold but last night it was about -10 below and at last light I took my fist shot at a deer. went off perfect I just missed . I use shockey gold and can say works for me!! I will just have to brave the crappy cold weather some more .
