Mildew on Wall Tent?

I have recently aquired a couple of my grandfathers old canvas wall tents...they were stored in a basement that had some moisture problems and are really musty and fairly nasty looking...they are nearly new tents and I would like to use them...How do I clean them?

I just went through this with a boat tarp.I tried every recommendation I got! in the end I finally used bleach mix bout 3 to 1 It worked best but the mildew stains never came all out.Also canvas water repels by the fibers gettin wet and swelling so no treatment is needed,But if ya want to treat it use it a couple times and if no rain then sprinkle it with hose a couple times let it completly dry between wetting and after then WaterSreal in spray cans for frabic works.Cabelas has some treatment also but I went WaterSeal.

With bleach mix I also scrubed with a stiff bristle brush LOTS A SCRUBIN!

Try scrubbing with Borax before you use the bleach.
