Using Laptop for GPS

I saw this done when I was at an FM get together last winter. Someone (I think it was Paul W) had their handheld connected to their laptop in their truck. This looked pretty slick. I have an extra laptop and an H20. Does anyone know how I can use the H20 as an antenna and use my laptop as a gps system?

You'll need to download a program to run with it. I use Topo 5.0

I use a Delorme lt-20 usb gps antenna, with my lakemaster software. You should be able to get a cable for the h2o from Lowrance.

What software were you planning on using that with?

I have used a Garmin 12 and 76 with laptops for many years. I use Delorme street atlas software on the laptop. With a route in it tells me when to turn, how far to next turn or intersection etc. Only needed a cable between the two. The software handled the rest.

Not sure what software to run. I'm looking for recomendations. Anywhere I can get the cable anywhere besides from Lowrance? No problem going through them, just impatient and would like to do it.

I purchased a PC interface cable for my Magellan at Fleet Farm. Sporting goods stores that sell GPS may have the cable in stock.

If your intentions are to use it for fishing, the Lakemaster Contour Pro is a good choice. LB
