Injured buck

I saw Biff T had a similar post about what to do if you see one. I didn't want to hi-jack that thread for my own.

My buddy said someone saw the big buck I have been seeing up by this pole barn (lots of trees up there) and he was limping. My question is more do you think he will stay in the general area if he was limping? Not sure how bad he is but if it is the same one I have seen he is a solid 8-10 pt. with a big body. I am hoping he is OK but really would like a shot at him.

I would like to know how he got hurt since the last I saw him was about the same time frame and he was just fine.

I only have a few days left until late December to hunt without lots of people traffic due to circumstances out of my control.

What are the chances he will stay in the area?

I would say if he's having a hard time moving around now & there's food & cover there he's not going anywhere unless he gets force out of there. Or is riding home in your truck...

It's hard to tell if he'll stay, but chances are good if there's food, cover and little hunting pressure. Also, a wounded or limping deer doesn't always mean he's been shot by a hunter. He could have been hit by a car, or perhaps even injured while fighting. Maybe there's a bigger one around that whipped his back side?

my assumption is car clipped him. Not seeing him personally makes me want to think that. There is not much hunting pressure but the neighbor bow hunts although he already scored on a buck. There is plenty of cover and food source not too far away. I wll post if I get him.

I am hitting the blind as much as I can before Thanksgiving dinner.
